Message in the picture: “Is Jesus your Friend”
Scripture for the day:
James 2:18-24 (RKJNT) But a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils believe also, and tremble. 20 Do you want to be shown, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 You see that faith was active with his works, and by works was faith made perfect; 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
Thought for the day:
Abraham met the ‘if’ condition he believed, demonstrated his faith, and was called ‘the friend of God‘. Some believe works are not part of our salvation; I will leave that alone for now, but will address it in a future blog. One thing we can be sure of, faith without works is dead or inactive, act on your faith—and be blessed—Tim.
