Troubles and problems are part of life, this Scripture, 2 Corinthians 4:17, does not trivialize or mean your troubles are not serious, they are temporary / momentary Now Troubles. You child of promise–child of God–by faith you have an eternal glory / hope that is “much greater than” your Now Troubles. Hold your head up, look beyond the ‘temporary / momentary‘ Now Troubles, by Now Faith look into that glorious hope of eternal life. Stand on your Now Faith and rejoice in the Lord through your temporary / momentary Now Troubles. Blessings to all of you my friends–Tim.
Scripture in context:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (ERV) That is why we never give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. 17 We have small troubles for a while now, but these troubles are helping us gain an eternal glory. That eternal glory is much greater than our troubles. 18 So we think about what we cannot see, not what we see. What we see lasts only a short time, and what we cannot see will last forever.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (RKJNT) For this reason we do not loose heart; but though our outer man perish, yet the inner man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, prepares for us an incomparable and eternal weight of glory; 18 So we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Hebrews 11:1-3 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrews 11:1-3 (EXB) Faith means being sure [the assurance; or the tangible reality; or the sure foundation] of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it [the conviction/assurance/evidence about things not seen]. 2 Faith is the reason we remember [or God commended/approved] great people who lived in the past [the people of old; the ancients; our spiritual ancestors].
3 It is by faith we understand that the whole world [universe; cosmos; ages] was made by God’s command [word; Gen. 1] so what we see was made by something that cannot be seen [not made from/by visible things].
