“Jesus said – You cannot serve God and money – from Matthew 6:24”

Scripture and thought for the day:
Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord]. [The Amplified Bible (AMP)]

Excerpt from the Prosperity Bible study:
God wants His children to learn to be content with what they have. We should not be hard-to-please complainers.

Philippians 4:11-13 I am not saying I need anything. I have learned to be happy with whatever I have.

12 I know how to get along with little and how to live when I have much. I have learned the secret of being happy at all times. If I am full of food and have all I need, I am happy. If I am hungry and need more, I am happy.

13 I can do all things because Christ gives me the strength. (NLV)

And [illicit passion] would burn and rage and uproot all my [life’s] increase [destroying everything]. (AMP)

Excerpt from the Bible study: Avoid Adultery

A word about marriage—the legal union of a man and woman—a commitment of mutual trust for and faithfulness to each other. Is faithfulness a key element of marriage?

Yes, too often the focus is on the ceremony, sex, conquest, emotional intimacy, security and jokingly being tied down—loss of freedom.

If we understand the role faithfulness plays the less likely we are to commit adultery.

Message in the picture:
“being jealous – feeling envy – Both are part of the sinful nature; get rid of those ways.”

Scripture and thought for the day:

Jealousy and envy; not Christian behaviors

Galatians 5:19-21 The wrong things the sinful self does are clear: being sexually unfaithful, not being pure, taking part in sexual sins, 20 worshiping gods, doing witchcraft, hating, making trouble, being jealous, being angry, being selfish, making people angry with each other, causing divisions among people, 21 feeling envy, being drunk, having wild and wasteful parties, and doing other things like these.

I warn you now as I warned you before: Those who do these things will not inherit God’s kingdom. (NCV)

Living a Christian life requires changes in the way we think and act. Being jealous (jealousy) and feeling envy (being envious) of others are two of the behaviors we must be aware of.

In order to make changes, we first must acknowledge a need for change. Are you prone to being jealous or feeling envious of others? This Bible study addresses the issue to assist in making changes.

picture of moon for the respect god bible study

Message in the picture:

“Respect God – Be in awe of, worship and obey Him”

Scripture for the day:

Hebrews 12:28-29 Let us be thankful, because we will receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us be grateful and worship (serve) (intensely adore) God in a way that will please him, with reverence and awe. 29 Our God is a destroying (consuming) fire. (NSB)

Hebrews 12:25-29 Be careful and don’t refuse to listen when God speaks. Those people refused to listen to him when he warned them on earth. And they did not escape. Now God is speaking from heaven. So now it will be worse for those who refuse to listen to him. 26 When he spoke before, his voice shook the earth. But now he has promised, “Once again I will shake the earth, but I will also shake heaven.” 27 The words “once again” clearly show us that everything that was created will be destroyed—that is, the things that can be shaken. And only what cannot be shaken will remain.

28 So we should be thankful because we have a kingdom that cannot be shaken. And because we are thankful, we should worship God in a way that will please him. We should do this with respect and fear, 29 because our God is like a fire that can destroy us. (Easy to Read Version)

Patience from God; Endure Life Troubles with Genuine Joy

Do you find yourself asking God for patience? If you are born again, you have it. Patience (long suffering per KJV) is part of the gift packaged with the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Some may not understand what the fruit of the Spirit means.

In short, they are attributes or characteristics of God that we get through the Holy Spirit when born again. Similar to getting traits, features, and abilities from our biological parents at birth through DNA.

So, if you ask anything, ask for knowledge and understanding of how to use patience. Try the online Bible Study Patience from God; Endure Life Troubles with Genuine Joy; hopefully, it will help.
